Shillong, May 5: The NCC North East Region annual awards for the training year 2025–26 were held on Tuesday (May 5) 2026 at the Rhino Auditorium, Shillong Cantonment.
The event was attended by the Group Commanders of all nine NCC Group Headquarters of the North Eastern Region, along with officers from NCC units of NER and awardees. The occasion was graced by Wailadmiki Shylla, Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs of Meghalaya, and Maj Gen Anurag Vij, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate North Eastern Region.
The NCC North Eastern Region annual awards are organised every year at the culmination of the training year to recognise and felicitate outstanding achievements and exemplary performance by cadets, Associate NCC officers (ANOs), educational institutions, Girls Cadet Instructors (GCIs), and NCC Units across the North Eastern Region. The awards aim to promote excellence, encourage healthy competition, and motivate all stakeholders towards achieving higher standards in NCC activities.
The awards for the Training Year 2025–26 were conferred under the categories of Best Cadets, Best Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), Best Academic Institutions, Best Girls Cadet Instructor (GCI), and Best NCC Units in recognition of their outstanding performance during the training year. The awards were presented to the recipients by the Sports Minister and Additional Director General, NCC North Eastern Region.
