Shillong, May 7: People from Hima Sohra on Thursday took out a protest march against the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), demanding the immediate byissuance of the Sanad to Paiem Marremdor Syiem as the new Syiem of Hima Sohra.
Protesters shouted slogans targeting the KHADC leadership for allegedly delaying the appointment.

“If you don’t know customs and traditions, you have no right to continue to be in power,” they said.
Many wanted the CEM to step down.
We condemn the EC of the VPP, we demand our rights, issue the sanad immediately.” they said.
