Shillong, May 23: After the Centre’s announcement of three-language formula in the CBSE, Khasi and Garo languages are included in the list.
According to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the CBSE R3 framework is an important step to benefit students, ease challenges for schools, support language teachers, and strengthen the preservation of Meghalaya’s rich linguistic heritage.

“More than a milestone, this reflects our shared commitment to an inclusive education system that respects every linguistic identity”, he said.
However, a PIL was filed in the Supreme Court against the three-language formula as the decision was abrupt .The parents are citing lack of trained teachers.
