Shillong, June 3: The meeting of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) will meet on Wednesday afternoon (June 3) to decide on the Rajya Sabha seat.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, NPP national President Conrad Sangma said that the MDA partners will decide on the candidature for the election to be held on June 18.

“We will have the MDA meeting at 2.30 pm and the announcement will be made at 3 pm”, Sangma said.
The NPP legislators had a meeting on Tuesday (June 2), and they came to a conclusion which will be conveyed to the MDA partners.
NPP leader and former MLS James Sangma is the frontrunner.
The name of NPP member HM Shangpliang was also discussed, while another NPP leader, Hamletson Dohling, opted out of the race.
