Shillong, June 15: The background banner put up by the state government during the launching of road projects by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in Polo showed WR Kharukhi as the Rajya Sabha ( RS) member.
NPP leader James Sangma was declared elected unopposed as the new RS member on June 11, ending the tenure of Kharlukhi.

Kharukhi was not present during the function, and the Tura MP, Saleng Sangma and several MLAs from Garo Hills and Khasi Hills were invited for the event.
