Shillong, Aug 11:Two brothers aged 19 and 18 were killed, and eight others injured following a lightning strike during a football match in a West Khasi Hills vilage.
The district police chief said an information was received at Nongstoin police station that while a football match was ongoing at Mawsnapwir around 3 pm, it started raining and suddenly a lightning struck the football ground which led to the death of two male individuals namely Mickson Kshiar(18) r/o Lawrapha WKH and Cleverson Kshiar(19) r/o Lawrapha WKH. They were brothers.

“In addition, 8 individuals suffered injury as a result of the lightening strike. The injured individuals have been shifted to Civil Hospital, Nongstoin and St Joseph Hospital for treatment” the SP said.
