Shillong, Sept 5: Former UDP leader Jemino Mawthoh will join the BJP at the party office here on September 12.
Mawthoh said on Saturday that he held a meeting with his supporters in this regard.

“Based on the opinion of the supporters, I have taken a conscious decision to join the BJP on September 12”, said the former Nongthymmai MLA.
Mawthoh had resigned from the UDP in May 2025.
He was the vice president and the general secretary of the UDP for several years.
“Infact feelers were since the year 2020-21, but I did not want to rush as a political decision should be very conscious”, he said.
