Shillong, Oct 8: Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma said the defection of eight UDP MLAs to the BJP was unavoidable claiming the legislators were frustrated due to lack of inclusivity and cohesiveness in the NPP-led government.
Speaking to reporters, he said the MLAs did not get development schemes unlike others, thereby forcing them to join the BJP.

Sangma also asserted that he will not join the BJP or any other national party.
“BJP can never break TMC in Meghalaya. And as far as I am concerned, Mukul Sangma is not joining BJP nor any political party, no national party,” Sangma said.
