HC seeks report on exorbitant Covid rates by private hospitals
Shillong, Oct 22: The High Court of Meghalaya on Friday wanted details regarding the exorbitant charges by private hospitals for treatment of Covid-19 patients.
As the PIL regarding the matter was taken up, Amicus Curiae TT Diengdoh invited the attention of the court to the issue concerning charging of exorbitant rates by the private hospitals for the Covid 19 patients.
The division bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjit More and Justice W Diengdoh said in the order, “He (Amicus Curiae) is requested to file affidavit bringing on record the details about the exorbitant charges by the private hospitals for the Covid 19 patients with advance copy thereof to learned AG and learned counsels for other respondents.”
The PIL will be further heard on November 22.
