Shillong, Aug 23: The Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO) has petitioned East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner regarding littering outside Raj Bhavan
In a letter submitted to the deputy commissioner on Monday, HITO referred to a video which shows some persons throwing bags of garbage over the walls of Raj Bhavan.

HITO said such audacious act was caught on camera by an alert citizen who shared it with media houses.
The organisation has asked the deputy commissioner to take stringent action against them under various provisions of the law.
HITO said all efforts should be made so that Shillong retains its old moniker ‘Scotland of the East’.
