AHAM concerned over reckless driving in Purakhasia
Elderly lady cries for help with broken leg
Shillong, Oct 25: George Prince Cheran Momin, the Vice president of A’chik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM), has condemned the continous reckless driving resulting in loss of lives of the local people.
Momin also urged the authorities to prohibit overspeeding and reckless driving.
On Monday evening, a viral video appeared on several WhatsApp groups and discussion forums where an aged lady was seen struggling for life with a completely broken leg on the side of the road.
He said an inquiry into the matter confirmed that the incident took place at Purakhasia near the Purakhasia PHC where the dumper truck ( AS01KC6066) ran over the aged lady. The dumper truck belongs to one Sohid Ali from Kamrup Assam.
Momin blamed the district administration and the law enforcement agencies for not taking action against reckless driving of the dumper trucks.
Many accidents in and around the area resulted in people losing their loved and dear ones, Momin said.
