AITC slams CM for poor road work in his constituency

Shillong, June 4: The  AITC has targetted the  MDA government for the poor condition of roads in South Tura represented by the chief minister.

The  AITC said since the road from the district council is bad, this had prompted the students of the Tura Govt college to repair it.

“MDA Govt, This District Council road in CM @SangmaConrad’s constituency leads up to GHADC. It was once damaged. With no help forthcoming, students of Tura Govt college repaired it. The situation is grave. But, more worrisome is a Govt that disregards its people’s concerns!” the AITC tweeted.

The party also shared pictures that depicted students in uniform filling in potholes in the chief minister’s own constituency..

The roads in Garo Hills have time and again been part of a discussion for their poor condition and minimal connectivity. It’s interesting to know that even the chief minister’s constituency roads aren’t taken care of, the AITC said.

According to the party, the tweet is widely circulated on Meghalaya social media where some users reacted sharply terming the situation ‘shocking’ and calling it an act of shame.

“Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and his government are already engulfed with a series of allegations of corruption, shoddy construction, and unemployment. These latest pictures from Garo Hills will make things worse in a poll bound state, whereas AITC Meghalaya is not missing any opportunity to take on the Govt ahead of 2023 polls”, the AITC said.
