Ampareen dares AICC, MPCC to take action

Shillong, Feb 9: The CLP leader, Ampareen Lyngdoh who joined the MDA government along with four other MLAs dared both the AICC and MPCC to take action against them.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Lyngdoh said while she does not want to dry dirty linen in public, one thing should be clear that they took the decision for greater good.

“We  met the CM extending issue based support on Jan 22, why then there was no letter from the MPCC president  communicated not to go ahead with the move?  It would have been good if the AICC and MPCC had communicated  to us their decision. We are not a rubber stamp CLP'”, she said.

She said the ball is in the court of MPCC. “We are elected members . You (Pala )did not mandate us to become legislators . If you don’t want to listen , then what can we do”, Ampareen said.

BJP issue

According to the legislator, two BJP MLAs in the MDA are not their problem.

“We are interested in having a strategic  location for us and If an MLA is given 20 projects , what is the problem?.AICC cannot give this. We respect the AICC. You can give advice but can’t change the strategy of a football game. We already got 12 penalties (12 MLAs who joined AITC) but we are survivors . It is time to tell that AICC cannot dictate terms. Don’t disturb us. If you want to take action, you can do so , but leave to us to handle politics . We will not desert you,”‘ Ampareen said.

Sanbor stand

Later, speaking to reporters, BJP leader and cabinet minister Sanbor Shullai said there is no problem in working with the Congress MLAs .
