Shillong Feb 4: NPP candidate for Shillong Lok Sabha seat Ampareen Lyngdoh has downplayed the imposition of bypoll in East Shillong once she is elected as alleged by her opponent and the nominee of Regional Democratic Alliance (RDA) Robertjune Kharjahrin, who had also said there will be additional expenditure.
Ampareen told reporters that whatever a fellow contestant feels is his personal observation and he is entitled to his views.
According to Ampareen, if she is elected , there is justification for the additional expenditure for Assembly bypoll as it is not a new thing.
“I am not doing anything extra ordinary as there is a practice and convention besides the provisions of legislative laws”, she said.
“In every democratic process ,the process and provisions of law are followed”, she added.
Ampareen also said the response from the public to her candidature is overwhelming.
