Shillong Jan 12: Health and Family Welfare minister Ampareen Lyngdoh wanted a report on setting up of three medical colleges in Meghalaya.
“We are progressing and I have requested officers to immediately draw a line as to what is the status of each of these medical colleges,” Lyngdoh told reporters on Friday.
The state cabinet had announced its decision to set up three medical colleges, of which two are government and one private – at Tura, West Garo Hills, Shillong and Ri Bhoi in the Khasi Hills region.
Minister opens IPHL
Earlier, Ampareen inaugurated the Integrated Public Health Laboratory (IPHL) under PM-ABHIM at Pasteur Institute, Shillong
Under the PM-ABHIM (FY 2021-2026), the Health Minister also dedicated the identified locations of Critical Care Block (CCB) and Integrated Public Health Laboratory (IPHL) to be built in the seven districts of the state of Meghalaya.
Ampareen said the government of India has been very generous in assisting the government of Meghalaya to strengthen its health facility centers and in the last few months, a total of seven projects has been given to the state.
