Bamboo bridge comes up in Huroi village

Shillong, Nov 8: The BSF, in collaboration with the civil administration, constructed a bamboo bridge over a stream connecting Huroi village, on Tuesday.

In a statement, the BSF said the purpose was to address the genuine problems being faced by the villagers of Huroi to commute from their village to other parts for various purposes.

The bridge was jointly inaugurated by DIG BSF Sandeep Rawat and East Jaintia Hills  DC Abhilash Barnwal, in the presence of  Sanjay Sharma, Commandant, 172 Bn BSF.

“The villagers appreciated the initiative taken by the BSF and the civil administration for construction of the bridge and have requested to construct similar bridges on other streams also. BSF is trying to rope in business houses for funding such project under CSR and has suggested various projects for uplift of bordering populace to these business houses”, the BSF said.
