Earlier on Monday night, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader told journalists that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked Murad Hassan to resign from the Cabinet by Tuesday for making indecent remarks recently that went viral on social media.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, earlier at a function said the much-talked about recent comments of Murad Hassan were in his personal capacity. Murad’s comment neither represented the government, nor the Awami League, he added.

Hasan had recently made derogatory remarks about BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, its acting chairperson Tarique Rahman and his daughter Zaima Rahman that went viral on social media.

Later, a conversation between Murad and actress Mahiya Mahi leaked and went viral on social media that sparked waves of criticism.
