Shillong, Dec 18: UDP leader and nominated KHADC MDC Bindo M Lanong has announced his support to the National People’s Party (NPP) executive committee in KHADC.
“Even though I have not decided to join any political party yet, I will officially submit my letter of support to the executive committee (EC) led by the NPP on Tuesday,” Lanong told reporters on Monday.
Lanong said he took this decision after the United Democratic Party (UDP) failed to respond to his letter in which he had expressed interest to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the Shillong Parliamentary seat.
Lanong said he had also written to the party leadership in April requesting a chance for a new beginning after he decided to contest against the party’s official candidate from Nongkrem constituency in 2018 Assembly elections.
Lanong said he had again written to the party in August on the matter but till date there has been no response
