BJP survey shows win in 10-15 seats, but to put up 60 candidates

Shillong, Jan 19: The BJP state president, Ernest Mawrie said on Thursday that the survey conducted by an independent agency and the the party revealed that the win will be in 10 to 25 seats in the Assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters at the party office, the BJP state president said that certain seats in Shillong city, Jaintia Hills and Garo Hills will come to BJP.

To a question, he said, “We are hopeful of contesting from all the 60 seats”.

Mawrie submitted a report on state elections during the central executive committee meeting held recently in Delhi.

Reaction on Cong criticism on scams

In response to a question on the statement of AICC leader Bobbeeta Sharma that Ernest did not follow up on the corruption cases of NPP-led MDA, the BJP president said that the CAG and other inquiry reports have revealed the truth and this is the result of his and the BJP initiative.

Withdrawal issue with Centre 

Mawrie maintained that the decision on withdrawal of support to the MDA government is pending with the Centre.

He also ruled out the allegation that the BJP was swallowing the regional parties, including the NPP.

According to Mawrie, the alliance with the BJP in Assam has only helped the AGP.
