Shillong, June 18: Body of the handyman of the truck (AS 01 DD 4496), which fell after a portion of the road at NH 6 caved in at Lumshnong area, was found on Saturday.
The body of Bishujit Chakrabarty (36) was located 400 feet down and was taken to Khliehriat civil hospital for post mortem examination. The deceased was a resident of Teliamura Santinagar, Khowai, West Tripura,an official said.
Restoration works
According to police, the restoration works on NH06 at Lumshnong is going on in full swing and NHAI will be working round the clock to restore connectivity as early as possible.
Light motor vehicles are being diverted through the Lumshnong – Brychirnot (Star Cement) road.
Police have appealed to all commuters to be patient and avoid travelling through the stretch of NH06 unless absolutely necessary.
