Shillong, April 15: Police have retrieved the body of one of the two persons, who died following a landslide at Rngain under Pynursla Civil Sub-Division, on Saturday.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Sylvester Nongtnger said while one body has been retrieved, efforts are continuing to retrieve the other.
The landslide at Rngain along the Shillong-Dawki road crushed and pushed the vehicle into a gorge, on Friday.
The two deceased persons from Wahlyngkhat village have been identified as Seiborlang Jaktung and K Kongjirem.
Deputy Chief Minister in-charge PWD (Roads) Prestone Tynsong, who conducted a spot inspection, is annoyed over the incident.
Tynsong, while giving instruction to the NHIDCL officials, said, “You don’t have brains or what”. He also called them “useless people”.
