Bombay HC issues release order for Aryan, others

Mumbai, Oct 29 (UNI): The Bombay High Court on Friday issued the release order for superstar Shahrukh Khan’s son, Aryan, accused in the Mumbai cruise drugs bust case, while directing him to furnish surety of Rs 1 lakh.
The court is yet to give its operative order on the conditions imposed while granting bail. He is expected to walk out of the prison either late Friday or Saturday.
Justice NV Sambare in his five-page order directed him and his two friends Arbaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha to “not indulge in similar activities, or establish contact with co-accused or similar persons, or make calls to people indulging in similar activities”.
Aryan also cannot leave the country without prior permission and he cannot make a statement to the media, including social media, regarding the proceedings.
He has been directed not to leave Mumbai without informing his investigative officer.
Aryan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the case of seizure of banned drugs aboard a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast on October 2.
The drugs bust triggered a series of controversies and put the central agency and its official under the spotlight.
Aryan will walk out of the Arthur Road Jail only after the court order reaches the prison authorities and the formalities are completed.
Aryan has spent 27 days custody since he was nabbed from the cruise ship.
