Shillong,June 13: The spokesperson and chairman of Hynniewtrep Border Dispute Redressal Forum,Thomas Passah and Chandame Sungoh respectively said they had to boycott the just concluded Karbi Anglong autonomous council polls as Assam has not re-transferred the areas under Block 1 to Meghalaya though it was promised.
Speaking to reporters, Chandame said as many as 7000 voters abstained fron voting in Amreng district council constituency.

He said the people rejected the election since they are very often harassed due to border dispute.
