Shillong,May 5: After 54 years, the state cabinet has adopted Chocolate Mahseer as state fish.
Briefing reporters after the cabinet meeting, the NDA spokesperson and cabinet minister Wailadmiki Shylla said the aim is to conserve the fish.

Several studies were done in the past to preserve Chocolate Mahseer scientifically known as Neolissochilus hexagonolepis.
