Shillong, Feb 26: The state cabinet on Monday cleared the new power policy incorporating pumped storage project besides hydel, thermal and solar initiatives.
The Meghalaya Power Policy 2024 is aimed at facilitating investment and to further streamline power generation in the state.

Powe Minister AT Mondal and Power Commissioner and Secretary Sanjay Goyal jointly addressed the media persons highlighting the policy.
The provision for pump storage project has been included in the scope of the policy, apart from generating power through solar and other green initiatives.
The policy also underlines intervention to attract investment in the power sector.
