Kolkata, Sept 19 (UNI): The Central Bureau of Investigation, probing the post elections murders, rapes and violent incidents across West Bengal, has issued arrest warrants against 12 suspects in Abhijit Sarkar murder case at Kankurgachi in the eastern part of the city.
Sources said the central probe agency officials on Sunday went to Kankurgachi locality and reportedly served the arrest warrant notices to the residences of the accused persons. A separate CBI team also visited Sarkar’s house and spoke to the relatives, including elder brother Biswajit Sarkar, during the probe.
Sarkar was found murdered on May 2, hours after the election results were out. Sarkar was an active trade union leader of BJP’s labour wing. He was badly beaten before the killers used a TV cable to gagged his throat to death, it was alleged.
The CBI also interrogated the concerned police station sub-inspector in the murder case.
