Shah asks NE states to make region terrorism free   

Shillong, July 24: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has stressed the need of making North East free from terrorism and drugs.

Speaking at the meeting of the chief ministers of Northeastern region on Saturday in the city, Shah emphasised on the importance of making a terrorism free North East. Concerns were also raised about smuggling of drugs in the region.

Lauding the state governments for the remarkable improvement in the security situation in the Northeastern states in the last many years, Shah asserted for early implementation of the peace agreements. In this context, the home minister also referred to the solution to decade-old problems like Bru resettlement in Tripura and the Bodo agreements in Assam.

Border dispute  

Shah also requested the chief ministers to resolve the border dispute of the states expeditiously in a cordial atmosphere and by mutual consultation.
