Christmas lights at Moolamylliang village enters sixth season

Shillong, Dec 19: Christmas celebrations in Moolamylliang village, East Jaintia Hills began on December 18 with its 6th season of holiday lights.

The Christmas extravaganza at the village opened bringing with illumination, decoration  and music. Local MLA Santa Mary Shylla was the chief guest. East Jaintia Hills DC Shivansh Awasthi was the guest of honour.

The christmas light initiative began in 2019 to promote tourism. Over the last few years, Moolamylliang village has built up a reputation for tourism, environmental care, and, especially, its christmas lights. This year the lights are displayed every evening from December 18 till January 3.

The event showcases various decorations prepared for visitors across all age groups.
Headman Apmon Pachiang said the Dorbar will also host a musical night on December 24 and the band “Magnificent Obsession” from Jowai will perform. A gospel concert will be held on December 25 from 6 pm and D.J Wanshan and Eladmitre Dkhar will be the guest artistes.
