CM denies Covid protocol violation

Shillong,Jan 27: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has denied media reports that he vioated Covid protocols after he tested postive on January 21.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, he said when major issues like border dispute and Meghalaya statehood are discussed , it is sad that people are talking about petty issues.

“I have been very clear and I have always followed protocols”, he added.

HITO against violation

Earlier, in a statement, the Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organization (HITO) has accused  the Chief Minister of violating the COVID-19 protocols during the inauguration of projects and holding public functions.

“We are disappointed to see that random flaunting of COVID-19 protocols not only by the ministers but also by the chief minister on various occasions across the state. It is sad and disgusting to see that the protocols were violated by those responsible for drafting them,” HITO president Donbok Dkhar said.
