Shillong, Aug 14: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has said the East Khasi Hills SP submitted a report regarding the killing of former HNLC leader Cherishstarfield Thangkhiew and a magisterial inquiry will follow and ruled out judicial probe.
The chief minister said this is mandated by the NHRC .

To a question on the lapse by the police , he said though the intention of the police was to arrest the individual, it was unfortunate that circumstances changed.
He said police have evidence against Thangkhiew linking him with the IED blasts and there were intelligence inputs regarding another impending blast.
