Conrad asks outfit to surrender

Shillong, Aug 10: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has asked the HNLC to surrender following the IED blast that occurred at Laitumkhrah market on Tuesday afternoon.

The HNLC has claimed responsibility for the incident .

Though initial reports said one woman was injured in the blast, police said two persons sustained injuries.

Speaking to reporters, the chief minister , while condemning the incident, said that such incidents would not be tolerated .

“Actions will be taken taken against the perpetrators of the crime”,he said

Recently, the HNLC had sent demand notes to many business men.

The chief minister hinted that the attempt may be to create terror after the extortion notices were served.

To a question, the chief minister said that all the accused in the previous blast incidents in Jaintia Hills and West Khasi Hills were arrested and asserted that action would be taken agains those involved in the incident of blast in Laitumkhrah.
