Conrad wants Centre to explore all options for peace in Manipur

There is a humanitarian crisis, says Meghalaya CM

Shillong, June 30: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday called for a balanced approach in dealing with the Manipur situation and asserted that all options should be explored to maintain peace.

There were media reports that Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh was expected to resign on Monday but later he decided not to do so.

When asked whether the President’s rule will be a solution to the problem, Conrad said,  “The situation in Manipur is complicated. The government should examine all aspects. Every decision has implications. The government of India should take a balanced approach after examining all aspects”, he said.

Speaking to reporters, Conrad said what he wants is normalcy to return.

“People ar suffering ..there is a humanitarian crisis and the Centre should explore all options to end the crisis”, he added.
