Curfew extended from 8 pm in East Khasi Hills
District has total 1,101 cases, positivity rate at 9.4%
Shillong, Sept 4: East Khasi Hills district administration has extended night curfew from 8 pm to 5 am.
This is as part of containment measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
The night curfew is continuing as the number of Covid-19 cases in the district still stands at 1,101 cases and the positivity rate is 9.4% for the last one week.
With the decline in cases, the government has permitted various livelihood-related, economic, religious and educational activities, and in doing so it is essential that all possible precautions are taken to prevent another surge in Covid-19 cases that may have a debilitating impact on the economy and put further stress on health-care systems, the order said.
According to the order, the Dorbar Shnong meetings, trainings, official programmes and private programmes are permitted with prior permission from the DC’s office and subject to attendance of not more than 1/3rd of the total capacity/venue.
Private transport allowed cent percent capacity
Private transport may ply at 100% capacity only within curfew relaxation hours and subject to adherence to health SOPs.
Public transport within East Khasi Hills and inter-district public transport vehicles (from East Khasi Hills to other districts and back) are permitted to ply at 50% capacity and will be regulated.
Sports activities are permitted subject to compliance with the SOPs issued by the Sports & Youth Affairs Department. They shall apply for permission to this office at dcofficeshillong@gmail.com.
Funeral gatherings should be restricted to 20 persons only.
Religious places/places of worship will comply with the SOP issued by the Home (political) department, and the total number of persons during any religious service is permitted upto 50% of the seating capacity of the place of worship.
Marriage rituals and engagements require prior permission and will be regulated. Wedding receptions are not permitted.
Tourist spots, restaurants, cafes, teashops, bars, hotels, home-stays and guest houses will open as per the regulations.
All conditions and advisories outlined in the SOP of the Tourism Department in relation to entry and registration of tourists, and vaccination requirements are to be adhered to.
School reopening and college reopening will be as per notification of the education department.
As recommended in the notification, the Task Force Committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner will monitor the resumption and safe operations of schools and colleges.
Central government offices and state government offices will function at 100% strength and shall close by 5pm.
Private offices are permitted to open from Monday to Friday, at 50% attendance strength. They shall close by 5 pm.
Banks and post offices are permitted to open at 100 % strength and shall close by 5 pm.
Skill training programmes (both government and private) may resume with prior permission and subject to compliance to the SOP issued by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
They may apply for permission in hard copy or via email at dcofficeshillong@gmail.com furnishing details of the training programmes, number of trainees and vaccination status of the trainees/trainers/staff engaged.
Shops including vendors will remain closed on Sundays. Dine-in establishments and tourist spots which have received permission from the DC’s office/ concerned SDO (C) may open on Sundays as per the conditions already issued.
