Day’s caseload drops to 731; Covid deaths at 20

Shillong, May 28: The number of new Covid-19 cases in the state on Friday dropped after staying above 800 for the past few days.

With 731 new Covid-19 positive cases and 941 recoveries, the number of active cases stands at 8,025. East Khasi Hills district, with 346 new Covid patients, continues to record the highest number of positive cases.

The death count on Friday was 20, more than the last two days. Of the deceased persons, 17 are from East Khasi Hills and one each from West Jaintia Hills, Ri Bhoi and West Garo Hills.

The Covid-19 toll in Meghalaya is now at 544.

Ri Bhoi recorded the second highest number of day’s caseload at 147, followed by West Garo Hills (69), West Jaintia Hills (32), and East Jaintia Hills, West Khasi Hills and South West Garo Hills (27 each).
