Lockdown extended till June 7 in East Khasi Hills

Containment in state to continue till further order

Shillong, May 28:The state government on Friday announced the extension of lockdown till 5 am of June 7 in East Khasi Hills with some relaxations. The lockdown was to end on May 31.

Briefing reporters after the review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that while the containment for the whole state will be extended from May 31 until further order, for East Khasi Hills, the lockdown will be extended till 5 am of June 7 in East Khasi Hills.

As far as the relaxation for East Khasi Hills is concerned, the deputy chief minister said the east deputy commissioner has been asked to ensure supply of essential commodities.

Home delivery of services are also allowed with permission from the deputy commissioner.
