Death in open space defies suicide logic of police

Shillong, June 16: The Hajong couple were found dead in an open space close to the footpath in Lumsohphoh, Laitumkhrah, defying the logic of suicide theory of the police.

A visit to the spot on Tuesday (June 16) tells a different story, other than the suicide angle (in picture) .

Police quoted the inquest report to indicate suicide only because ropes were tied on the necks of the victims.
Moreover, there were no injuries, according to the police

But a look at the spot where the bodies were found does not indicate that the death took place there.

A person who has a make-shift shop at the site saw the bodies in the open space on Sunday (June 14) around 6. 30 am. It was raining.
Subsequently, he informed the authorities.
The couple has been identified as Pronam Hajong (22) of Balat, South West Khasi Hills and Semanto Hajong ( 21) of Ranikor from the district.
While Pronam is working at the newly-opened adjacent cafe-cum bar Alaya at night, her friend Semanto, was working at a hardware shop nearby
