Shillong, Jan 20: Ruchil C Marak, the son of Williamnagar Congress candidate Deborah Marak, who was involved in a road accident leading to the death of a scooterist, was granted bail, according to police.
Ruchil’s vehicle had hit the scooterist on January 17 night in Williamnagar resulting in the incident. Police arrested the accused after he surrendered.

In a statement, the AITC said the victim, who worked as a labourer at a nursery near Willamnagar station, is survived by his wife, and two minor daughters studying in Class 6 and 8. After visiting the victim’s family, Alphonsush said that the unfortunate incident has brought hardship to the family but assured to remain by their side during this difficult hour.
As the family comes to terms with the loss, Meghalaya TMC said it stands in solidarity with the kin of the deceased and vowed to join them in their fight for justice.
