“It was a very interesting experience and a very enlightening one that people from various walks of lives have come in. Some of them have come with grievances, some of them had come in with requests for help, a couple of them were related to issues with our serving policemen, two of them were with issues of policemen, who had died while on duty and a request for a compassionate appointment. We have noted most of the things”, the DGP told  reporters after the meeting.

She met the visitors mostly in a group of three.

According to Nongrang, there were a few who had come to congratulate her.

“So I had a couple of minutes with all of them and some of which are not chartered. Since they had come I had accordingly advised them to take it up with the concerned authorities,” she said.

Issues of people with disability

The DGP said there were two groups, which have come highlighting the issues of people with disabilities, and they had requested some kind of training capsule for traffic police personnel, so that they can arrest the issues confronting  people with disabilities.

The DGP assured that training will be implemented immediately.

Public nuisance

She also stressed the need to address the issue of public nuisance in the different parts of the city. There was one case under crime against women.

When asked, the DGP said a request had come from the taxi aggregators but that was not under the agenda.

“There were quite a few calls asking if they could come on other days but I said yes on other days you would have to take a prior appointment and today you could just walk in,” she said.
