‘Don’t even know face of Trinamool leader’

Shillong, Sept 23: Congress leader Mukul Sangma was surprised to know that his name was linked to Trinamool leaders when he had not met any one of them in Kolkata.

Speculation was rife that Mukul met Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee in Kolkata after the CLP leader was unhappy over the manner of selection of new MPCC team led by Shillong MP Vincent Pala as its president.

” The speculation may be that my phone was  inaccessible but I had not even seen the face of the party leader from Trinamool as mentioned in the media report”, Mukul told a few journalists on Thursday when asked separately about the matter after the press conference.

Earlier on Wednesday, the BJP legislator AL Hek, whose name was also mentioned in the news report, had denied meeting any Trinamool leader in Kolkata.
