Shillong, Oct 31: The East Khasi Hills district administration has prohibited holding of rally, assembly of people and procession in the city.
In the order under section 144 CrPC issued on Monday, the deputy commissioner Isawanda Laloo prohibited assembly of five or more people for the purpose of any rally or procession within the Shillong City limits, including the Shillong Urban Agglomeration area.

The deputy commissioner also referred to the violent incidents on October 28 in the city during the rally of FKJGP ( in picture)
According to the deputy commissioner, other groups are also planning the rally and hence the order.
However, religious processions are exempted.
