Election deferred in Sohiong after HDR Lyngdoh passes away

Shillong, Feb 20: The Assembly elections will be held only in 59 seats in Meghalaya after the passing away of Sohiong candidate HDR Lyngdoh ( UDP).

Lyngdoh passed away at Bethany Hospital on Monday due to cardiac arrest.

Chief Electoral Officer FR Kharkongor said the election to Sohiong seat will be deferred and the polls on February 27 will be held only in 59 seats.
