Shillong, Jan 11: The AITC Rajya Sabha member, Derek O’ Brien on Wednesday said that every political party in Meghalaya is in bed with the BJP.
Speaking ro reporters after launching the election song and video at the party office in Lachaumiere ,Derek said, “Everybody in Meghalaya is in bed with BJP, and we don’t want to do any business with the BJP”.
Derek also termed the ruling party as the A2 team of the BJP.
To a question on the Congress, the AITC leader pointed out to the Goa situation where majority of the MLAs joined the BJP.
He also ruled out any pre-poll alliance with other political parties in the state.
“We are going to form the government on our own”, he said.
The party has already fielded 52 candidates and the party president Charles Pyngrope said that six more candidates will be announced soon.
‘Bengal party tag’
Both the leaders asserted that the people should not be misled by the Bengal party tag to AITC as spread by the opponents.
“Have you not seen that all the candidates are from Meghalaya and leaders are also from here”, Derek asked.
