Farmers’ body for Bharat bandh on September 25

New Delhi, August 28 (UNI): Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) has called for a countrywide strike on September 25 to intensify their ongoing protest against farm laws, the association announced on Saturday.
SKM also announced a Mahapanchayat in Muzaffarnagar on September 5 where they will unveil their Mission Uttar Pradesh-Uttarakhand. The association plans to take down to the grassroots of both the states with a motive to ensure the defeat of BJP that is in power in UP and Uttarakhand.
SKM also informed that it plans to form its joint committees in all states and districts to ensure a pan-India expansion and intensification of their “farmers’ struggle”.
The decisions were taken during a two-day convention held at the Singhu Border protest site to mark the nine months of their agitation against the farm laws.
“The National Convention was held on August 26-27 at the Singhu Border near Delhi amidst great enthusiasm. August 26 marked the completion of nine months of the historic farmers’ struggle. Over 2,000 delegates from hundreds of organisations from 22 states attended this convention,” the association said.
