Farmers get SMS alerts but not money: MDC

In a statement on Sunday, Marak said that the farmer’s scheme released by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not reaching the beneficiaries on time.

“Farmers are getting SMS alerts but the money is not credited to the beneficiary’s account. This is creating confusion and people are not sure if the amount has really been released or the messages they received are fake SMSs”, Marak said.

He wanted the implementing agencies to ensure that there is no delay in the release of schemes which the BJP government had sanctioned as the poor are being deprived of the benefits by irregularities and confusion.

“Similar situation has been reported by the beneficiaries of other centrally sponsored schemes like Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY),  Individual Household Latrine (IHHL) and others.Though the people were notified, they are yet to receive any benefits”, Marak said.

“The implementing agencies should try not to create confusion as it is depriving the beneficiaries of their rights. BJP will ensure that the schemes reach the beneficiaries inspite of irregularities”, he said.
