On Thursday, when the new MPCC team welcomed former Congress leaders, RG Lyngdoh and PN Syiem, the CLP leader and other Congress legislators from Garo Hills were not present.

Only the newly appointed working president of the party from Garo Hills, Marthon Sangma was present.

Sources close to Mukul said the CLP leader was not taken into confidence when the new team of  MPC was formed.

Mukul recently said there are efforts by certain leaders to divide people on Khasi-Jaintia- Garo line.

However, a Congress source said  if Mukul felt that there are differences, he should have come to the meeting held on Thursday to welcome former Congress leaders to the party.
