Fighting 2023 polls in unison a million dollar question for Mukul

Shillong,Sept 17: Is it a million dollar question for the Congress to fight the 2023 Assembly polls unitedly?.

When a reporter on Friday asked as to whether there will be a united fight by the Congress in the next Assembly polls, the CLP leader Mukul Sangma said,”It is a million dollar question.”

On Thursday, when the new MPCC team welcomed former Congress leaders, RG Lyngdoh and PN Syiem, the CLP leader and other Congress legislators from Garo Hills were not present.

Only the newly appointed working president of the party from Garo Hills, Marthon Sangma was present.

Sources close to Mukul said the CLP leader was not taken into confidence when the new team of  MPC was formed.

Mukul recently said there are efforts by certain leaders to divide people on Khasi-Jaintia- Garo line.

However, a Congress source said  if Mukul felt that there are differences, he should have come to the meeting held on Thursday to welcome former Congress leaders to the party.
