Shillong, Sept 18: The CLP leader and former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and other Garo MLAs were absent for the second time on Saturday as the MPCC organised a function in the city to mark the handing over of post of state party president to Vincent Pala.
Earlier on September 16, Mukul and Garo MLAs did not attend the function when former Congress leaders RG Lyngdoh and PN Syiem rejoined the party.
Sources said Mukul is unhappy as he was not consulted by the AICC before the formation of new MPCC team though he is a senior leader.
Earlier on Friday when asked, Mukul said he cannot share party matters to media persons.
Congress leaders James Lyngdoh and Deborah Marak stressed the unity of the party while addressing the gathering. “United we stand , divided we fall, the Congress party does not belong to any single individual”, Deborah said.
