Shillong, Sept 27: A fire incident near Ajmera Building on GS Road here has damaged four shops.
According to police, on September 27 around 11.30 am, a fire was suspected to have originated from Kao Chen Restaurant and subsequently spread to the adjoining shops opposite Ajmera Building on GS Road.

Due to the timely response of the Fire & Emergency Services, the fire has been brought under control and further spread has been prevented.
No injuries have been reported and no person has been found injured.
As a precautionary measure, No Entry was imposed from Grand Hotel towards Motphran to facilitate fire-fighting operations and ensure public safety, and it was withdrawn after the operations.
