Shillong, Sept 11: Police arrested five Jowai prison staff for lapses in the jail leading to the escape of six prisoners.
A prison official said on Sunday that the arrested jail staff conspired with the escapees.

The arrested staff are Rajesh Swer (head warder), Pyndapbor Bamon (warder), Chamilan Kynjing (warder), Damelahun Sunn (temporary warder) and Alexius Iawram (temporary warder)
The official added that they will be suspended for the lapses.
