Shillong, Sept 29: At least five passengers were killed and several others injured on Wednesday night when a bus ( in picture) they were travelling in fell into a river in East Garo Hills after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The Shillong bound MTC bus (MLO30221) was coming via Nongstoin from Tura.

The bus carried nine passengers from Tura and 12 from Williamnagar.
On reaching Nongshram bordering East Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills at around 11. 45 pm, the vehicle skidded off the bridge and fell into Ringdi river.
The injured were rushed to Rongjeng PHC and Williamnagar Civil Hospital.
