Shillong, May 1: The Farmers’ World Cup 2022 started on April 30 and will conclude on May 7. There will be 12 teams from villages in Meghalaya and other northeastern states.
There will be women’s teams too for short tournaments.
Summersalt, along with Farmers’ World Cup, released the song, Football For Everyone, to celebrate the world of a farmer. The music band created the video in collaboration with singer and songwriter Gabriel Momin.
The song was officially released at the inaugural function by Brigadier TS Hothi of the Red Horns Division.
The football match has been conceptualised to celebrate farmers’ contributions to the society and economy and their life. One of the objectives of the event is to utilise sports as a “community glue and platform for instigating positive change”.
